Veterans first. Educators too.
A group of veterans from every branch of service, united by one purpose: teaching the next generation what service and sacrifice actually mean.
Veterans Story Hour is a charitable organization founded and run by veterans. We come from every branch — Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force — and we’re united by the same principle: that civic pride and American history are best taught by the people who lived them.
Served, and once taught.
Every Veterans Story Hour instructor is a veteran — and many are also former educators. That combination matters. A textbook can describe the history of the U.S. Army; a veteran who served in it can make a classroom of second-graders feel it.
It’s not a lecture. It’s firsthand experience, shaped by people who also know how to reach a room full of eight-year-olds.
Three principles, every class.
Service & Sacrifice
The values our instructors lived by in uniform are the same ones they teach in the classroom.
Non-Partisan, Always
Every class is civic, not political — focused on what unites us, never on what divides us.
Free & Accessible
No school or family ever pays. Every class we teach is free, by design.
“From the many, one — our national motto, and the goal of Veterans Story Hour: to emphasize what unites us as Americans instead of what divides us.”
